VanDerGinst Law Community Involvement

VanDerGinst Law helps people in and out of the courtroom. In the courtroom our focus is on helping people who have been injured on the job or due to the wrongdoing of others.  Outside the courtroom we try to help those least able to help themselves.  That includes the injured and infirm, the elderly, the disabled and children.  We also try to give back to those to whom we owe a debt of gratitude including active military and veterans, first responders, front line healthcare workers and teachers.  We take great pride in our community involvement and charitable donations. Each year VanDerGinst Law participates in several worthy causes. Below is a list of some of the efforts and events in which we participate:

Hard Headed Kids – VanDerGinst Law has given away thousands of bike safety helmets to children in the communities served by the firm. Our goal is to make as many “Hard Headed” kids as possible!  Read more

Empower House – Empower House is Iowa’s only brain injury Clubhouse. It is a community that provides empowerment for a more purposeful life after a brain injury. It is located in Davenport, IA.  VanDerGinst Law is a proud supporter.  https://empowerhouseqca.org

Hometown Heroes – VanDerGinst Law prepares Free “Simple Wills” for veterans and active military, first responders, front line healthcare workers and teachers.  Read more

Vlaw Scholarship Program – Over the years the firm has given away tens of thousands of dollars through scholarship competitions. Graduating seniors and college students may qualify to participate in our annual scholarship competitions. Read more

Legally Speaking – VanDerGinst Law coordinates a program called “Legally Speaking,” which offers the firm’s attorneys as speakers for various functions and events. When appropriate, the firm’s offices are also made available for organizational meetings and functions.  Read more

Toys for Tots – VanDerGinst Law donates and collects new toys to be distributed by the U. S. Marine Corp. Toys for Tots program.

Winter Coat Drive – VanDerGinst Law coordinates an annual drive to collect new and used coats, scarves, hats, and gloves. The firm also purchases new items, all of which are donated to local homeless shelters and other needy individuals during the winter months.

RECENT COMMUNITY EVENTS

VanDerGinst Law spends countless hours and money each year to support worthy causes in the communities we serve.  Below are a few examples.

Local Charity – Recently, VanDerGinst Law was honored to sponsor a wonderful event in support of Empower House, a nonprofit doing life-changing work in our community. The event was held at the home of Dennis and Kim VanDerGinst. Empower House is Iowa’s only brain injury Clubhouse, with 3 service lines offered nowhere else in the state. Their programs are meant to help brain injury survivors thrive to reach their full potential. Special thanks to everyone who contributed their time, talents and generous donations.
