VanDerGinst Law is here to help people, in and out of the courtroom. We take great pride in our community involvement and charitable donations. Each year VanDerGinst Law participates in a number of worthy causes. In addition, the firm and its employees participate in and/or sponsor a number of annual activities and events. Below is a list of some examples:

Spread the Love with VanDerGinst Law – This year (2021), we want you to “Spread the Love with VanDerGinst Law.” We are partnering with an organization in each of our markets which gives back to those who need it most in our communities. [read more]

Hard Headed Kids – VanDerGinst Law proudly gives away thousands of bike safety helmets each year to children in the communities served by the firm. Our goal is to make as many “Hard Headed” kids as possible!   [read more]

Hometown Heroes – VanDerGinst Law prepares Free “Simple Wills” for veterans and active military, first responders and teachers.

Scholarship Program – Over the years the firm has given away tens of thousands of dollars through scholarship competitions. Graduating seniors vie for scholarship money donated by VanDerGinst Law via an essay contest. [read more]

“Hard Headed Kids” Video Scholarship Contest –
For years, Vanderginst Law has proudly provided thousands of bicycle helmets to children to promote the importance of safety when riding a bicycle. [read more]

Toys for Tots – VanDerGinst Law donates and collects new toys to be distributed by the U. S. Marine Corp. Toys for Tots program.

Winter Coat Drive – VanDerGinst Law coordinates an annual drive to collect new and used coats, scarves, hats, and gloves. The firm also purchases new items, all of which are donated to local homeless shelters and other needy individuals during the winter months.

Legally Speaking – VanDerGinst Law coordinates a program called “Legally Speaking,” which offers the firm’s attorneys as speakers for various functions and events. When appropriate, the firm’s offices are also made available for organizational meetings and functions.

Medico/Legal Seminars – VanDerGinst Law proudly presents a series of seminars on medico/legal issues to the local medical and chiropractic community.

Nursing Home Abuse and Neglect Seminars – VanDerGinst Law is proud to coordinate and present a seminar series which focuses on recognizing the dangers to our loved ones in nursing homes.

RECENT COMMUNITY EVENTS

Local Charity – Recently, VanDerGinst Law was honored to sponsor a wonderful event in support of Empower House, a nonprofit doing life-changing work in our community. The event was held at the home of Dennis and Kim VanDerGinst. Empower House is Iowa’s only brain injury Clubhouse, with 3 service lines offered nowhere else in the state. Their programs are meant to help brain injury survivors thrive to reach their full potential. Special thanks to everyone who contributed their time, talents and generous donations.
