Attorneys

 

We are seeking experienced attorneys for our Des Moines office and for our Quad Cities office.  We are a nationally respected, multi-location practice, focusing on all areas of personal injury and workers’ compensation.

Ideal candidate

  • Active license to practice law in Iowa (for Des Moines) , or Iowa and Illinois (for Quad Cities)
  • 5+ years of legal practice experience
  • Personal injury experience (plaintiff or defense)
  • Workers’ compensation experience (petitioner or respondent)
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working autonomously
  • Trial experience preferred

Compensation

Base salary: $100,000–$150,000 (commensurate with experience), plus incentive bonus plan.

Paralegal

 

We are looking for an experienced paralegal to work in our Des Moines office. 

Qualifications:

  • Prefer 2 years +- prior experience in a personal injury law firm as a legal secretary and/or paralegal
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and problem solve
  • Familiarity with medical records, medical chronologies and personal injury workflows
  • Familiarity with e-filing and various court rules, procedures and deadlines
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and case management software

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist attorneys with pre-litigation and litigation case preparation, including:
  • Reviewing and summarizing medical records
  • Creating medical and factual chronologies
  • Drafting demand packages and correspondence
  • Communicate with clients, medical providers, insurance companies, and other third parties
  • Request, track, and organize medical records, bills, and other case documentation
  • Draft and file pleadings, discovery, and other legal documents as needed
  • Maintain accurate and organized case files (electronic and physical)
  • Manage deadlines, calendars, and task lists to ensure timely case progression
  • Assist with litigation support as cases progress, including trial preparation when necessary
  • Identify liens and negotiate lien reductions under attorney supervision
  • Perform general administrative and clerical duties to support the legal team

This position is full-time, in-office. It is not remote.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 – $60,000.00 per year, commensurate with experience
