Fire Prevention

1. Candles: Use LED lights instead of traditional candles.

You can use these with your décor and inside your pumpkin. Let’s face it, sometimes people think it’s funny to knock over pumpkins and décor.

Using LED lights can help prevent a potential fire or burn injury.

You can even go one step further and use glow sticks for an even spookier effect!

2. Décor: Oh fall, how we love you with your beautiful dry leaves, hay bales, and cornhusks.

Halloween brings even more hazards with artificial spider webs, draped fabric from the grim reaper, and ghosts flying around made from bedsheets.

They all pose a potential fire and burn hazards.

If you really need to light that pumpkin spice candle, ensure your décor is kept away from lite candles and electrical hazards.

We don’t want to see any bedsheet ghosts going up in flames.

3. Luminaries & Lanterns: We all know that scene from Disney’s Rapunzel when they light thousands of lanterns and they float across the sky.

It’s beautiful but also dangerous.

These open flames can land on houses or dry leaves and grass, causing a fire.

As beautiful as they are, it’s probably not a good idea to light one.

The luminaries that light paths are also dangerous as they can be knocked over by the wind or kicked by unsuspecting children, causing fires or burns.
