Dangerous Drugs - Concerta
Concerta, a medical treatment for Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), has been determined by the FDA to cause dangerous side effects. Most of the effects are psychotic in nature, including suicidal thoughts, aggression, psychotic behavior and hallucinations. While the current warning labels applied to Concerta prescriptions denote psychiatric side effects, they fail to communicate the severity and potential for the side effects.
For instance, the current warning claims Concerta only exacerbates existing psychiatric conditions. In a recent study, only 6 of 36 participants who suffered psychiatric side effects as the result of Concerta had a previous history of psychiatric illness. In addition, the drug may be potentially linked to more than 25 deaths, at least nine of which were children.
